Crease Report ("we," "us") operates creasereport.com and the Inside the Crease newsletter. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

What We Collect

Email address. When you subscribe to Inside the Crease, we collect your email address. We also record the signup form and, if available, the first referral source and campaign tags associated with your visit. We use these fields to count confirmed newsletter subscriptions by source. We do not store a full referral URL on the subscriber record.

Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we load PostHog and Microsoft Clarity. They collect usage data such as pages visited, clicks, scroll depth, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and a random identifier stored in your browser. PostHog and Clarity may also record anonymized sessions (screen activity with form inputs masked) so we can see where the site is confusing. We do not link this data to your email address. If you decline, neither tool is loaded and nothing is sent to them.

How We Use It

Your email address is used solely to send the Inside the Crease newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes. We use Resend to deliver emails.

Unsubscribing

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email [email protected] to be removed from the list. We process removal requests within 48 hours.

Cookies and Your Choices

The site uses localStorage to remember newsletter signup status, popup dismissal and your cookie choice. Session storage remembers a short first-visit referral label and campaign tags until you close the browser tab; we attach them to your subscriber record only if you sign up. If you accept analytics, PostHog and Clarity also set their own cookies or local storage entries to recognize a returning browser. We do not use cookies for advertising.

You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, or open cookie settings now. Withdrawing consent stops analytics and clears the PostHog and Clarity identifiers stored in your browser on this site.

Data Retention

Subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. Upon unsubscribing, your data is removed from active mailing lists within 30 days.
